The Necessity of Prophethood

The Creator's wisdom entails making His purpose known

Logical premises

  1. 1

Reason grasps the Creator's existence and perfection, yet cannot on its own determine the details of the worship and law that please Him.

  2. 2

To create man accountable while leaving him without clarification would contradict wisdom and remove the basis of his accountability.

  3. 3

Wisdom therefore entails sending messengers who convey that purpose, supported by signs establishing their truthfulness.

Quranic proof

﴿رُسُلًا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى اللَّهِ حُجَّةٌ بَعْدَ الرُّسُلِ﴾

Rational conclusion

Acknowledging a wise Creator entails expecting clarification from Him; prophethood is a requirement of wisdom, not an addition to it.
