Ruling on tahur water altered by a pure substance that blends into it
Does water altered by a blending pure substance, such as saffron or soap, still remove hadath?
Ablution remains valid with water altered by a blending pure substance such as saffron, soap, or lote-leaf, so long as it stays thin and the mixture has not overwhelmed the name of absolute water.
Purification is not valid with water whose colour, taste, or smell has been altered by a pure substance that water is usually free of, such as saffron, soap, or lote-leaf; such water becomes pure but not purifying.
Neither hadath nor najasah may be removed with water so much altered by a blending pure substance, such as saffron or lote-leaf, that it can no longer simply be called water.
The water turns pure but non-purifying and no longer removes hadath once a blending pure substance such as saffron, soap, or lote-leaf alters it enough to bar the name tahur.
