The Ruling on the Remembrance and Supplication after the Ablution
What is the ruling on the transmitted remembrance and supplication on finishing the ablution, and what is its wording?
It is recommended for one who has finished the ablution to say: “I bear witness that there is no god but God alone, having no partner, and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and His messenger. O God, make me of those who turn to You in repentance, and make me of those who keep themselves pure.”
The remembrance and supplication after the ablution — the two testimonies and the transmitted supplication — are recommended, and they are among the manners and recommended acts of the ablution.
It is a sunnah to say the two testimonies and the transmitted supplication after the ablution, facing the qibla and raising the hands, since it is established in the sunnah.
The remembrance and supplication after the ablution are recommended: the two testimonies, and the words “O God, make me of those who turn to You in repentance, and make me of those who keep themselves pure.”
