When a Woman Resumes Prayer and Fasting After Becoming Pure
Once the bleeding has stopped, when does she resume prayer and when fasting — and is the full bath a condition for both alike?
She resumes fasting once the bleeding stops before dawn, and the bath is not a condition for it if the stop came at the full ten days; if earlier, enough of the night must remain for the bath and the opening takbīr. Prayer, however, she resumes only after the bath, or dry ablution when unable.
She resumes fasting as soon as she sees the sign of purity before dawn, with no bath required for it; she resumes prayer upon purity, but its performance waits on the bath, and if the time is short she bathes and prays at once.
She resumes fasting once the bleeding stops before dawn, with the intention, even if she delays the bath; prayer becomes due upon her at purity if time for a takbīr remains, and she prays as soon as she has bathed.
She resumes fasting upon purity before dawn, with the intention, and delaying the bath does no harm — as with one in major impurity; prayer becomes due upon purity if time for the opening takbīr remains, and she must hasten to bathe so as to pray within the time.
