F92Chapter on Menstruation and Post-natal BleedingRevised

A Woman Who Becomes Pure before the Prayer's Time Ends

If a woman becomes pure from menstruation or post-natal bleeding before the prayer's time ends, how much remaining time makes that prayer due of her: enough for one takbīr, or for one unit?

Hanafi

A woman whose bleeding stops at the full ten days with as much time left as suffices for the opening takbīr must perform the prayer; if it stops before ten days, the prayer is due of her only if enough time remains for her to bathe and pronounce the opening takbīr.

Maliki

The prayer is due of her if, after her purification, enough of its time remains for one complete unit.

Shāfiʿī

A woman who becomes pure with as much of the time left as suffices for one takbīr must perform that prayer.

Hanbali

A woman who becomes pure before the time ends, even by as much as the opening takbīr, must perform that prayer together with the prayer that may be combined with it before it.
