Whether a Woman Who Becomes Pure Late in the Day Must Also Pray the Earlier of the Two Joinable Prayers
If she becomes pure during the time of ʿaṣr or ʿishāʾ, is only that prayer due of her, or is ẓuhr or maghrib due together with it?
Only the prayer in whose time she became pure is due of her; she does not pray ẓuhr with ʿaṣr nor maghrib with ʿishāʾ, since the earlier prayer's time ended while she was still menstruating and not addressed by it.
Ẓuhr and ʿaṣr are due of her if she becomes pure when enough time remains before sunset for purification and five rakʿahs, and maghrib and ʿishāʾ if enough remains before dawn for purification and four rakʿahs; otherwise only the latter prayer is due. Both are performed on time, not made up, since this is their necessary time.
Ẓuhr is due with ʿaṣr if she becomes pure during ʿaṣr, and maghrib with ʿishāʾ if during ʿishāʾ, because in a state of excuse the time of the second serves the first, as in joining prayers.
Ẓuhr is due with ʿaṣr if she becomes pure during ʿaṣr, and maghrib with ʿishāʾ if during ʿishāʾ, because in a state of excuse their two times become one.
