F44Chapter of the Conditions of Prayer
Ruling on the awrah of a free adult woman in prayer
What is the awrah of a free adult woman in prayer, and what may she leave uncovered?
Hanafi
The awrah of a free woman in prayer is her whole body except the face, the hands, and the feet; her prayer is valid with these uncovered.

Maliki
Her awrah is her whole body except the face and the hands; uncovering the feet or the hair does not invalidate the prayer, though it is repeated within its time because they are part of the lighter ʿawrah.

Shāfiʿī
Her awrah is her whole body except the face and the hands, their backs and palms alike, up to the wrists.

Hanbali
A free adult woman is entirely awrah in prayer except her face, so she must cover her hands and her feet.
